Hala Kaiksow began her career as a maker from the age of ten, she began knitting and sculpting then continued on in pursuing her degree in art with a concentration in metals and glass from Tufts Art School in Boston, USA. She then took to developing her skills as a sculptor and maker, now using textiles as a medium. She began at Istituto Marangoni in Paris and then at Polimoda in Florence Italy, where she obtained her Masters degree and developed her skills as textile weaver and apparel designer.
Through her research and exploration she has lived in the US, France, the UK and Italy. Her concepts are often a juxtaposition of the Eastern and Western worlds she lives in.
