Mona El Rubi is a Bahraini Artist who was born in Sudan and raised in England.
While the three continents had a major effect on her art, so too have her experiences, Mona is a mother, Educator and UNESCO coordinator holding MA and an honorary PHD degree. Her vision finds its origin in the colorful and tones of humanity, expression, and culture. El Rubi is self-taught artist who is influenced by the neo-expressionism art work of A.R. Penck, and Hennery
Her bold yet bright art pieces present multi-culture as well as bursts of shapes, the uniqueness of her approach is in her ability to express humanity and passion via colors. She has exhibited at the UN, Bahraini local, and regional art shows. She believes that a genuine piece of art can unleash the viewer’s imagination without swaying the perspective in a certain direction which in turn creates diversity, inquiries and dialog.
