Hassan Al Sari is one of the young artists belonging to the generation of youths of Bahrain who have added new dimensions to formative art previously not known in the work of Bahraini artists – that of the use of dimness / or shadow and light. The work is thus planned in black. To this, three colours are added – green, orange and purple and another neutral one which may be white.
Al Sari is not a mere artist. He owns varied talents: including writing on Literature and critiques in the Press, whilst still a student in the University.
Al Sari’s ambitions did not stop with the topics and subjects that were of interest to other Bahraini artists, namely representing in painting, themes from environment and heritage. He strives to search for a style more close to himself. Hassan has tried through this to formulate and engage with a new subject matter, based on human problems whilst still implementing international techniques not known by his fellow artists. Not limiting himself to the local Bahrain art scene, he is fully committed to a following an International path dominant in the Contemporary Art Market. As a result of his continuing contributions, Sayed Hassan is becoming recognized as an artist in the forefront of Bahraini art practice, through his new style coinciding with that of shadow and light emitted from a dim space. In this way, his career mirrors his work – the individuals he focuses his light on resemble the aims to be achieved in his art work and the light emitted from his work resembles the perspective – thereby inspiring the viewer.
