Ahmad Anan was born in Bahrain, 1968. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally since 1989, where he took the subject of women as the main theme of most of his artwork. He won a discretionary award in the Fine Arts National Museum of Bahrain 1995, and won the first prize Bahrain Contemporary Art Association Exhibition in 2002. He has taught the art of printing and collage in various workshops, his artistic style connects between the local heritage and the western effects upon it.
He has drawn the female figure in diverse styles and themes. His last solo exhibition was held in 2016 (“Conceal and Reveal”) in Al Riwaq Art Space Gallery, and in 2014 he held an exhibition in Desert Art Gallery in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which focused on the topic of the woman and her responsibility towards her house, husband and kids, and society’s point of view about her.
